Taek-Gi Lee:

When aged just 17, the pianist Taek-Gi Lee, announced his presence to the world by winning two prizes – 1st place and Audience Prize – at the 2014 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition at the youngest-ever age of 17. Dame Fanny Waterman, the founder of the Leeds International Piano Competition and a member of the jury at the time, praised his final recital performance as being amongst the highest standard of all performances that she had come across to date. Subsequently, Lee officially debuted on the international stage in association with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and remains active on European and American stages today.

Academically, Lee studied under Choong-Mo Kang at the Korea National University of Arts’ preparatory school, and later, while at the Yewon School, he moved across to America to enrol at the Juilliard School of Music. He plans to follow Robert McDonald, his tutor at Juilliard, to the Curtis Institute of Music to continue his studies. Having already studied under Choong-Mo Kang, Kwon Ma Ri, and Hong Young Im, Lee continues to develop his musical talents under Robert McDonald’s tutelage.

Min-Soo Hong

On 21 October 2017 Min-Soo Hong won 2nd Prize at the 11th Liszt International Competition in Utrecht following the achievements of 4th Prize two times at the Busoni International Piano Competition (2011 and 2015). He received this prize in the main hall of TivoliVredenburg after a performance with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Markus Stenz. He immediately embarked on a tour of the Netherlands.

Hong has given concerts in China, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Morocco, United States, South Korea and Switzerland. Highlights include concerts with the Seoul, Busan and Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestras, the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra as well as performances at the Salle Cortot in Paris.

Born in 1993 in Busan South Korea, Hong studied at the Korean National University of Arts with Prof. Daejin Kim and is currently studying at Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Prof. A. Perl.
