Bio

Born on 16th May 1991 in Chang-won, South Korea, Kitbi Lee began playing violin at the age of four. She had an orchestral debut at the age of eleven, and had a solo recital debut at fifteen. She entered to Ye-won Middle School in 2004, then to Seoul Arts High School in 2007. She studied in Korea with Bok-Soo Kim, Kajin Lim and Jae-hong Park. She received prizes in Ewha & Kyunghyang and Han-Mi competition in Korea.

A very passionate violinist with burning desire for an appearance on international stages, she decided to study in Paris in 2010, where she unanimously entered CNSM (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris) in Paris and studied under Boris Gaarlitsky and in 2013, she was accepted into class of Emmanuelle Bertrand in chamber music course in CNSM. Currently, she studies at CRR de Paris in Concert-Master degree and she is also taking the Artistic Diploma course at the Royal Academy of Music, where she receives full scholarship for her study.

With a lot of enthusiasm in orchestra and in chamber music, she was a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra from 2010 to 2012, which led her to play with many prestigious conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Charles Dutoit and Manfred Honeck, and also got a chance to travel all around the world.

She regularly performs as a soloist and a chamber musician between South Korea and France, and she is looking forward to expanding the lines across the globe.
