Katherine Yoon (Violin, Part I)

Born in 1998, South Korean violinist Katherine Yoon has performed in major concert venues including Wigmore Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, BOZAR Brussels, Victoria Hall Singapore, Musikverein Vienna and Berliner Philharmonie. She won first prizes in the Haneum Competition, World Music News Competition and the 2019 RCM Violin Competition. Katherine was invited to perform in Windsor Castle to lead the RCM Chamber Orchestra conducted by John Wilson in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince of Wales, performing alongside artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Dame Sarah Connolly and Sir Thomas Allen. In 2022, she was the concertmaster of the RCM Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Sakari Oramo. Formed at the Seiji Ozawa Festival, she is a member of the Kleio Quartet. Their performance at the 2019 Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition in Denmark was broadcast live by DR. The Quartet supported by the Tunnell Trust Award and the City Music Foundation. Her chamber music mentors include members of the Doric and Chiaroscuro Quartets. Katherine previously studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School with Akiko Ono. From 2017, she studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Itzhak Rashkovsky on a full scholarship as a recipient of the Anne & Brian Wadsworth Scholarship and the ISH Award. She was supported by the Drake Calleja Trust in 2020/21. Katherine is currently pursuing her Master of Music degree at the RCM as an ABRSM Scholar.

Yuki Hammyo (Piano, Part I)

Born in 1999, Yuki Hammyo is a Japanese pianist living in London, performing in countries including Japan, Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and the U.K. She has won the Platinum Award in the Premier Music International Competition (2021), third prize in the 1st Windsor International Piano Competition (2015), and Silver Prize in the 1st European International Piano Concours in Japan (2010). She is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for a master’s degree under Professors Paul Roberts, Caroline Palmer, and Laura Roberts with a scholarship, having obtained a First Class Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal College of Music under Professor Andrew Zolinsky in 2021. Yuki has attended masterclasses and lessons by Vadym Kholodenko, Klaus Hellwig, Noriko Ogawa, Franck Wibaut, Diana Ketler and Boris Berman. She is also grateful to have had a wonderful experience studying piano with Louis Leerink and at the Waseda University before professionally pursuing music, as well as spending her childhood in Amsterdam where she started taking piano lessons with Naomi Tamura. As a keen chamber musician, she frequently collaborates with multiple groups and has received coaching from musicians such as Alina Ibragimova, Michael Collins, Noriko Ogawa, Mark Messenger, Simon Lepper, Carole Presland, Ursula Smith, Rick Stotijn, Harlem Quartet, and members of the Heath Quartet. Her piano quartet, the Chiarina Piano Quartet, won the 2022 Ivan Sutton Award and was invited to a residency in Guildhall Young Artists in Norfolk where they had the pleasure of performing and giving masterclasses. In 2022 she collaborated with pianist Sarah Cahill as part of “Future is Female” concert in the Barbican Conservatory, and performed for concerts organized by Clare Hammond and Noriko Ogawa. Yuki enjoys collaborating with living composers, commissioning and giving premiers of their works in venues such as the Russian Embassy in London, Milton Court Barbican, and The Place for some of which she has received coaching from Marcus Barcham-Stevens and Mark Knoop. On the other hand, she equally relishes in performing on period instruments—fortepiano in particular. She has studied with Professors Geoffrey Govier and Maggie Cole, as well as playing for Ricardo Cecchetti in a masterclass.

June Lee (Violin, Part II)

South Korean violinist June Lee is an Artist Diploma student at the Royal College of Music in London. She is tutored by Professor Itzhak Rashkovsky, her teacher at RCM since 2020. Ms. Lee completed her Bachelor degree, Masters degree and Artist Diploma at the Korea National University of Arts with Professors Sung-ju Lee and Koichiro Harada. Ms. Lee has performed solo with KBS Symphony Orchestra, Romania Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra, Joy of Strings, Yonsei Sinfonietta and KNUA Symphony Orchestra. She was selected to perform the solo ‘Work’ with the Kim Yong-geol Dance Theater at Kennedy Center. Ms. Lee is a long-time member of Joy of Strings, performing with them in Europe, Belgium and Japan and recording for Universal Music. With Ensemble Pan she has also played at the Berlin Konzerthaus. Beyond classical music, Ms. Lee has recorded for Parasite and led the RCM Chamber string ensemble for the Horovitz Jazz Harpsichord Concerto. She led the RCM Symphony Orchestra for a Vengerov masterclass and played under conductor Jac van Steen. In year 2021-22 Ms. Lee was a London Symphony Orchestra fellow.

Mee-Hyun Esther Park (Violin, Part II)

South Korean violinist Mee-Hyun Esther Park has performed internationally, in countries such as the UK, Brussels, Poland, Italy and South Korea. Esther has received guidance from internationally acclaimed artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Alina Ibragimova, Lawrence Power and György Pauk. Recent highlights include winning 1st Prize at the Royal College of Music Violin Competition 2022 and the RCM String Quartet Competition 2022 with the Brompton Quartet, winner of the 2019 St-Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition. Esther was also appointed Assistant Violin Teacher at the Yehudi Menuhin School in 2020. Esther studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School under Simon Fischer and Boris Kucharsky with a full scholarship from the UK Government’s Music and Dance Scheme. Subsequently, she joined the Royal College of Music, receiving a full scholarship for her Undergraduate studies. Currently in her second year of Masters, Esther studies with Professor Radu Blidar, supported by a full scholarship by the College as a Neville Wathen Scholar. Future engagements recitals in Birmingham Conservatoire, Avon Valley, Conway Hall, and a residency at the Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival with the Brompton Quartet.

Svitlana Kosenko (Piano, Part II)

Svitlana Kosenko was born in Ukraine and studied first in Kharkiv Special Music School with professor Svitlana Zaharova. After graduating with a Bachelor and a Masters degree from Kharkiv University of Arts, where she studied with professor Natalya Melnikova, Svitlana returned to work as a principal piano teacher at her alma mater Kharkiv Special Music School. Svitlana is a laureate of many international competitions. In 1999, she won Second Prize in the International Competition of French-Polish Music in Paris. 2001 saw Svitlana take first prize in the Smetana International Competition and was awarded a Special Prize for her performance at the Enescu Competition. In 2012, she won Best Pianist at the Joseph Suder Lieder Competition.In 2014, she completed her studies at Saar University of Music, Germany, with a Masters degree in Chamber Music under professor Tatevik Mokatsian. Soon after she began working at her current position of official staff pianist at the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK.
