Designed to support UK based Korean musicians, the KCC House Concert is a new performing arts programme at the Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK). Throughout 2017 this programme will showcase the impressive talents of Korean musicians presently within the UK’s classical scene by offering them the opportunity to perform in central London at the KCCUK. The Series which began in February 2017, will run once a month (on every third or last Tuesday), the concerts are open to the public and free to attend.

Bio - Mun Jeong Kim
MunJeong Kim was born in Seoul, Korea in 1994 and started studying the violin aged 7. In 2006 MunJeong won a place to The Purcell School of Music in the UK and was a holder of a scholarship given by the government’s music and dance scheme where she studied with Nathaniel Vallios and Evgeny Grach. MunJeong is now a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Music, London having recently graduated with BMus Hons where she is continuing her studies with Itzhak Rashkovsky.
She has performed as a soloist with orchestras, chamber musicians and as an orchestral player around the UK in venues such as the Wigmore hall, Cadogan Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Saatchi Gallery, Royal Festival hall, Elgar Room in the Royal Albert Hall and Buckingham Palace.
In 2009 she played Bruch Scottish Fantasy with the Wantage Orchestra. In 2011, MunJeong participated in the AIMS music festival, in Solsona, Spain involving teachers such as Sergey Ostrovsky, Alexander Anissimov and Gustav Rivinius. In 2012, at the New Virtuosi music course, she had masterclasses with Rivka Golani and Krzysztof Smietana. Her most recent masterclass at RCM was with Marc Danel, Ani Schnarch and Alina Ibragimova.
Bio - Kumi Matsuo
Kumi Matsuo was born in Tokyo, Japan. Winner of the 5th Louisiana International Piano Competition in 2013, she has won Second Prize at the 75th Music Competition of Japan in 2006, Third Prize at the 22nd Ferrol International Piano Competition in 2008 and First Prize at the 6th Isidor Bajic International Piano Competition in 2012.
Kumi graduated from the Toho Gakuen High School of Music and the Toho Gakuen University of Music in Tokyo. In 2007 she moved to London for her further study at the Royal College of Music where she gained an Artist Diploma and a Master of Music in Performance supported by the Charles Napper Award, the Russell Gander Award and the Rohm Music Foundation. Kumi has also finished the Anthony Saltmarsh Junior Fellow in Accompaniment at the Royal College of Music.
