Mee-Hyun Esther Park

Violinist Mee-Hyun Esther Park began giving performances in Korea at the age of seven. After moving to the UK in 2007, she had lessons from Simon Fischer and joined the Yehudi Menuhin School two years later, on a full scholarship from the Music and Dance Scheme. She continued to study with Simon Fischer and then with Boris Kucharsky.

Esther has given concerts in Korea, England, Italy, Poland, Wales, Japan and Belgium. Also a keen chamber musician, Esther has played at Clare Hall (Cambridge) and participated in the Marryat Players Festival (Wimbedon), and the Thinking Musician in 2019. She has also led and played in the Menuhin School Orchestra on a number of occasions, at venues such as BOZAR (Brussels), Gstaad Menuhin Festival and the Konzerthaus Berlin.

Currently, Esther is in the third year of her undergraduate degree at the Royal College of Music in London studying under Radu Blidar, and is generously supported with a full scholarship as an RCM Scholar.

Kumi Matsuo

Kumi Matsuo is establishing an international career as a versatile solo pianist, chamber musician and accompanist. She studied at the Toho Gakuen College of Music, Tokyo, and then at the Royal College of Music, London studying with John Blakely and Ashley Wass. She completed her studies there with the award of the prestigious Artist Diploma with Distinction.

In 2012 she won first prize at the sixth Isidor Bajic Memorial Piano Competition in Serbia, and in 2013 won first prize in the fifth Louisiana International Piano Competition, USA. She is now a member of staff at RCM, working as Duo Coach to the String Faculty, as well as accompanying other instruments.
