Artist Bios:

Wonsick Oh (Bass)

Korean bass singer Wonsick Jonathan Oh possesses an extensive repertoire, pleasing his audiences with both opera and classical performances. Jonathan received the Special Prize at the coveted Beijing International Opera Competition. In 2013, Jonathan’s opera career began with the role of Sprecher at Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Whilst studying at university, he performed numerous roles including Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni (2014), Don Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro (2016), Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor (2016), and Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte (2018). Outside of opera, Jonathan performed solo bass in Bach Cantata BVW4 (Christ lag in Todesbanden) and in various other song cycle recitals, including those for Vier ernste Gesänge and Drei Gedichte von Michaelangelo. He also completed a diploma program under Charles Spencer and Markus Haudlla at the MUK Lied Academy (Music and Arts University to the City of Vienna). Jonathan began his studies in voice at the Korea National University of Arts. Subsequently moving to London, he is currently undertaking his MA in Vocal Performance, on scholarship, at the Royal Academy of Music, learning from Mark Wildman and Philip Sunderland. Johnathan’s future plans include further postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Opera, commencing September 2021 under a full scholarship.


Angharad Rowlands (mezzo-soprano)

Described by Gramophone as “arresting”, Angharad Rowlands is a Welsh mezzo-soprano studying on scholarship for a Master of Arts in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music under Raymond Connell. A native Welsh speaker, Angharad grew up in the Welsh folk tradition competing regularly in the National Eisteddfod of Wales. She made her debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in the 18/19 season as 2nd Bridesmaid in a revival of David McVicar’s production of Le nozze di Figaro. In demand both as a soloist and ensemble singer, Angharad works regularly with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the Monteverdi Choir. Her oratorio highlights include Bach’s St Matthew Passion at Palau de la Música Catalana, Barcelona; Kursaal, San Sebastián, and Philharmonie de Paris with Gardiner; Duruflé’s Requiem and Handel’s Dixit Dominus for Eamonn Dougan and the Orchestra of The Sixteen/Thomas Tallis Society; Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass for Highgate Choral Society, and Bach’s Mass in B minor and Mozart’s Vespers at St Martin-in-the-Fields. Angharad previously read Art History at the University of St Andrews and completed a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction from Trinity Laban where she was the 2019/20 recipient of the Drapers’ de Turckheim Award in 2020. She was recently selected as a semi-finalist of the Hurn Court Opera Singer of the Year Competition 2020. MIZU Hannah Chow
(Piano accompanist)

Hong-Kong born piano accompanist & piano teacher, MIZU Hannah Chow is based in London, where she is collaborating with singers, instrumentalists and composers. She regularly performs in duos particularly with singers and with horn. She engages with a wide range of repertoires, with particular interest in music written by female composers and contemporary music.Hannah was awarded The Gilbert's Prize for Piano Performance at conservatoire, as she 'demonstrated an outstanding ability in communicating to an audience through performance'. Her innate musicality and her warm personality have attracted a great number of aspiring students and endeavouring collaborators to work with her in both her teacher and collaborative performer roles. Her motto is to use music as a tool to influence lives and to nurture motivators. Hannah studied piano accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music with Ian Brown and Nicola Eimer. Her upcoming events include song and chamber recitals in and around London.
