A non-verbal puppet show based on the Korean War, Dallae Story depicts an ordinary family whose lives changed beyond recognition following the outbreak of the national tragedy. Although the piece does not focus directly on the war itself but portrays the efforts of a family to overcome the hardships of wartime in a fairytale-like fantasy. Through the eyes of an unworldly child – Dallae, the story shows how cruel war can be, especially to children. The show received an award at the Tolosa International Puppetry Festival 2009 in Titirijai, Spain.
