Korean Traditional Dance Workshop
The Korean Cultural Centre UK is proud to announce a new Korean cultural course this autumn. The Application Deadline is 30 Oct 2019 17:00.
Buchaechum(Ipchum) is one of the most integral and popular genres within the realm of Korean traditional dance.
The dance is performed using a small fan. It embodies the delicate, feminine characteristics of Korean dance. It also draws inspiration from the 'Lee-maebang (이매방)' style of dance, which has been designated a ‘Living National Treasure’ in Korea. Through Buchaechum, you can get a glimpse into the excitement and beauty of classical Korean dance.
No previous dancing experience is required to take this class and we will prepare all the props you need. We will focus on basic Korean dance steps and movements. You will learn the difference between Korean and Western dance styles, and by the end of the class will be able to perform a short version of the dance.
