Information

1.1 By entering the KCCUK Social Media Awards 2019 (the “Awards”), the entrant (the “Entrant”), and the Admin (as defined below) agree to be bound by these terms (the “Terms and Conditions”).

1.2 It is the Entrant’s responsibility to have read the KCCUK Social Media Awards Terms and Condi-tions prior to or at the time of entry into the Awards, and entry into the Awards is treated as acceptance of these KCCUK Social Media Awards Terms and Conditions.

1.3 The Awards is entirely administered by Korean Cultural Centre UK (“KCCUK”).

1.4 Any image or video entered into the Awards must be submitted via your own social media ac-count.

1.5 If you follow Instagram (@kccuk), Facebook (@kccuk) and/or YouTube (@thekccuk) and in-clude the hashtag #kccuk, #kccukawards in your post, you will automatically be entered electronical-ly.

1.6 All enquires from Entrants regarding the Awards or the Terms and Conditions must be made to info@kccuk.org.uk.

1.7 The closing date of the Contest will be Wednesday 20 November 2019 11:59pm (GMT). Any changes made to the closing date at any stage will appear on the KCCUK website and social media channels.

1.8 The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry.

1.9 By entering this Awards, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.


Conditions of Entry

2.1 All Entrants must be residents of the United Kingdom age 18 or above.

2.2 Each Entry must be received by the deadline as specified by KCCUK on the KCCUK main communication channels (website, social media pages )

2.3 The Entrant acknowledges that entering the Awards does not grant the Entrant any intellectual property rights in or over KCCUK or the Awards itself.

2.4 The Entrant agrees not to use any third party intellectual property when entering the Awards.

2.5 The Entrant agrees not to damage in any way the reputation of the Admin or the Awards or other associated parties, as such action will lead to the disqualification of the Entrant and further legal action will be taken, depending on the scale of the infraction.


Entrance Fee and Content Submission

3.1 No fee will be collected from Entrants in order to participate to the Awards, as the Awards is free of charge.

3.2 There is no limit to the number of times you may enter the Competition for each category: Still Images (drawings or photographs) and Moving Images (videos).

3.4 If we cannot find an Entrant’s submitted work on their social media channel after the Closing Date, we will consider them withdrawn from the Awards.

3.5 Entrants can submit to both Still Images and Moving Images.



Image Rights

4.1 All entries must be original works of the Entrant and, therefore, the Entrant must be the sole and exclusive owner of the content, which must not infringe on the copyright of any third party.

4.2 The copyright in respect to any entry will not be transferred to the KCCUK at any stage of the Awards. The owner of the copyright will be credited in any publication of the entries in any media form, by use of the Entrant’s name as provided in the Entrant’s submission.

4.3 The Entrant accepts that the content, if chosen as winning content, will be published and used for promotional purposes in the context of KCCUK cultural activities, such as, but not limited to, social media posts and website uploads.

4.5 The winner agrees to the use in any publicity material of his/her username and link to the social media profile used to enter the Awards.

4.6 The Admin will take reasonable steps in order to prevent accidental disclosure of the submitted entries but does not take any responsibility in the event that content is accidentally disclosed.


Caption Submissions

5.1 In order for the content to successfully enter the Awards and have a chance to be shortlisted, the Entrant must follow KCCUK social media pages and use the following hashtags in the caption of the submitted material: #kccuk #kccukawards


The Judging Process

6.1 The winners will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by KCCUK, whose decision cannot be appealed.

6.2 A popular vote can be conducted via KCCUK social media sites to measure entries of potential winners.

6.3 Seven winners will be selected in total: one first place award, plus three winners for each catego-ry: Still Images and Moving Images.

6.4 The winners will be notified via KCCUK Website, social media channels. Winners must claim the prize within two weeks from the date of publication. Winners will also be notified via email or DM on social media channels, and will be provided with further information on how to collect the prize.

6.5 The prizes consist of a £500 Gift Voucher to be awarded to the first place winner, and a £100 Gift Voucher to each of the other six winners.


Ethical Requirements

7.1 The submitted content must be ethically obtained and not have been the cause of harm to any person, personal property, animal or habitat.

7.2 Failure to meet the required ethical standard will result in disqualification in accordance with section 8 of these Terms and Conditions.

Disqualification

8.1 The Admin has the right to disqualify any entry at its sole discretion in accordance to these Terms and Conditions and the decision cannot be appealed.

8.2 No compensation or prize will be offered for any disqualified entry.

8.3 KCCUK also reserves the right to cancel the Awards if circumstances arise outside of its control.


Data Protection

9.1 Any personal data relating to the winners or any other Entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

9.2 This competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by the social media platforms on which it is hosted. The information provided will be used in accordance with the relevant social media privacy policies.
