Afterall and the KCCUK are pleased to announce an online Zoom Webinar talk by curator Hyunjin Kim on the work of Korean artist siren eun young jung.

To celebrate the launch of Afterall journal, issue 49, ‘Extractivism’, featured writer Hyunjin Kim presents a talk expanding on her essay on the work of siren eun young jung. Kim will discuss the artist’s work in relation to the traditional Korean queer theatre, Yeoseong Gukgeuk, and reflect on curating and writing about jung’s exhibition at the Korean Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale. The talk will be followed by a conversation with Jaemin Cha, curator, Korean Cultural Centre, London and Adeena Mey, Managing Editor, Afterall journal.

Hyunjin Kim is a curator and writer, currently the KADIST Lead Curator for Asia. She was the curator of the Korean Pavilion at the 58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, 2019, the director of Arko Art Center, Seoul (2014–15) and a co-curator of the 7th Gwangju Biennale (2008).
