침묵 SILENCE, A DAY AT A TEMPLE

Asia House will present 'a day in a temple' with performances from 12pm to 8pm by Paris-based Korean traditional dancer Jaehyun An and Asia House’s former artist/choreographer-in -residence Yong Min Cho. Silence will give participants the oppportunity to take a break from every day life, drink tea and interact with the dancers, whilst exploring the interrelationship between meditation, silence and sound.
Omija cha (herbal pink tea) and tofu, provided by Hyungsoo Yim will be served to visitors after each performance.
Performance Artists: Yong Min Cho and Jaehyun An
Yong Min Cho (UK/South Korea/Italy)Yong Min Cho began his dance studies at the Italian dance theatre school founded by Paolo Grassi, Piccolo Teatro, in Milan. After three years of training in Milan he moved to Venice to join the Academia Isola Danza, where he worked with the renowned American contemporary dance choreographer Carolyn Carlson. He remained in Venice for several years working independently as a dancer at the Centro Teatrale di Ricerca Venezia. Since 2005, he has been living and working in London whilst touring in Italy and South Korea. During 2014 he was artist/choreographer in residence at Asia house London, and performed Bridging Colors White.
Jaehyun An (France/Korea)
Jaehyun An is a Korean traditional dancer and choreographer, having graduated from Wonkwang University, South Korea. She has lived in France since 2010 where she has performed numerous times at the Korean Cultural Centre, Paris.
