Mother and daughter Sang-ok and Chae-young's relationship alternates between close and distant. In 2007, 15-year-old Chaeyoung was diagnosed with anorexia. Despite being hospitalised, she has continued to suffer from persistent eating disorders. Her mother, Sang-ok, also suffers in her own way as she watches her daughter's health deteriorate. A Table for Two records the history of their relationship while also looking at their present lives, both separately and together. Following her first feature-length film For Vagina's Sake (2017), a detailed exploration of women's bodies and menstruation, director Kim Boram shows how the symptoms experienced by women's bodies are deeply connected to both surrounding social conditions and one's close relationships. This is, of course, made possible by those who shared their honest personal experiences with the camera. By listening carefully instead of speaking directly, the film captures a series of beautiful moments and depicts firm attitudes towards life as well as efforts to renew relationships.
