Celebrate Hangeul Day with calligraphy & lecture
The Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK), in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization London Office, invites you to celebrate Hangeul Day (한글날) — the commemoration of King Sejong’s creation of Hangeul (the Korean Alphabet). Recognised worldwide as one of the most scientific and unique writing systems, Hangeul remains a proud symbol of Korean identity and creativity.
Hangeul Calligraphy Workshop
- Date & Time: Tuesday, 7 October, 6 PM
Experience the artistry of Hangeul by writing it yourself. With guidance from a calligraphy instructor, you will create your own unique piece of Hangeul calligraphy.
Lecture on King Sejong by Dr. Anders Karlsson (SOAS, University of London)
- Date & Time: Wednesday, 8 October, 6 PM
Discover the story of King Sejong, the visionary ruler who created Hangeul to make literacy accessible to all.
Both events are free of charge, but registration is required as places are limited.
