ASIAN CHAIRSHOT

Asian Chairshot formed in 2011, rapidly rising to become one of Korea’s biggest rock bands are known for a stunning beauty in their heavy psychedelia. They embrace “the primitive power of guitar-and-drums bombast while still betraying some pop music trickery.” Smashing Pumpkins helped them break through at last year’s SXSW and described them as “Black Sabbath playing Radiohead”. Jeff Schroeder of Smashing Pumpkins Pumpkins produced their EP ‘Horizon’.

DANPYUNSUN & THE SAILORS

The roots of Korean music go deep into ritual performance and Danpyunsun exemplify this with their mind-blowing theatre. When having seen their act at MU:CON in Korea, which is the largest Korean music showcase and takes place every early November, Chris Sharp from the Barbican Centre said “I can see them working in various other contexts in the UK. I really enjoyed Danpyunsun and the Sailors, who drew heavily on Western indie rock but added an eccentric twist, which was very engaging.”
