Traditional Korean Folk Games

K-Creative Sessions
Join us for a series of craft events exploring traditional Korean folk games, inspired by the global popularity of ‘Squid Game.’ We'll delve into the history and hands-on experience of these cultural treasures.
Featured Sessions:
Ddakji & Jegichagi (28th March 2025):
- Ddakji(딱지): A classic game where players use folded paper tiles to flip their opponent's tiles.
- Jegichagi(제기차기): A Korean version of hacky sack, challenging players to keep a ‘jegi’ (shuttlecock) airborne with their feet.
Yutnori (18th April 2025):
- Yutnori(윷놀이): A traditional board game using four wooden sticks (‘yut sticks’) to move tokens, aiming to be the first to return all tokens to the starting point.
Chungsa Chorong (30th May 2025):
- Cheongsa Chorong(청사초롱): A traditional lantern used historically for illumination at night by officials and guests, and also prominently featured in wedding ceremonies.
