Tuition + Patriots Day in Joseon

17 Feb 2019 - 5:40pm

Venue:

BFI Southbank

Film

Early Korean Cinema

Tuition follows the trials and tribulations of schoolboy Yeong-dal as he struggles to find the money to pay for his education. The child’s viewpoint of economic hardship and the film’s upbeat ending makes this film a charming addition to the series. Facing expulsion for failure to pay his fees, the young protagonist decides to undertake an arduous journey to ask his grandmother for financial help.
