Supporting Arts and Culture in the Era of COVID-19: A Korean government report
Policy responses to COVID-19
The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has published a report on its response to the COVID-19 health crisis.
The report details the impact of COVID-19 on the performing arts, film, music and other cultural industries and how this has been mitigated by new government policies aiming to ensure the continuation of creative activities.
These measures include offering Ministry funding to support cultural institutions and professionals, promoting online cultural content to encourage audiences to stay at home, and providing safety guidelines to prepare for the ‘new normal’ as cinemas, museums and other cultural spaces begin to reopen.
“The Korean Government is prepared to share the lessons learnt and policies we have implemented against COVID-19.”
