National Holiday - KCCUK Closure

March First Movement’ Day

Did you know that the 1st of March is a very meaningful day for Koreans? This year marks the 104th anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence on March 1st 1919.

The 'March First Movement’ Day is known locally as #Samiljeol, [#삼일절] The 1st March was one of the earliest public displays of resistance and uprising against the Japanese occupation of Korea. People in Korea celebrate this holiday by displaying the national flag in their windows and paying a visit to historical sites.

Please note that the KCCUK will be closed on Wednesday, 1st March 2023 to mark the March First Movement Day.

The KCCUK will open as usual on Thursday 2nd March.
