An independent-minded daughter moves back into the family home with her long-term girlfriend, bewildering her mother, who works as a carer for a lonely elderly woman. Lee Mi-rang’s adaptation of Kim Hye-jin’s novel explores intergenerational struggles and reconfigures conventional notions of family. It offers a poignant exploration of family and companionship, quietly calling for tolerance, solidarity and love.
