The Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK) was pleased to host a series of ‘K-Culture Family Days’ on 18 and 21 February 2025, welcoming families to explore Korean culture through hands-on activities. Timed to coincide with the UK’s half-term break, the event provided children and parents with a unique opportunity to engage with both traditional and contemporary Korean heritage during the school break.

The programme featured two key activities: a Hangeul Calligraphy Workshop and a K-Pop Dance Workshop. The calligraphy session, held on 18 February, was closely linked to the Centre’s ongoing Bestselling & Beloved exhibition, allowing participants to explore Korean Literature before practicing Hangeul brush lettering. Attendees created personalised bookmarks with their names in Korean, offering them a lasting memory of the experience.

On 21 February, the Centre hosted a K-Pop Dance Workshop, where participants learned choreography to popular songs. The session captured the enthusiasm surrounding Korean pop music, highlighting its global appeal and influence.

Dr. Seunghye Sun, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre UK, stated, "Children are the protagonists of a new future. I am delighted that they are having a joyful time, strengthening both their bodies and minds through Hangeul writing and K-POP dance classes."

The KCCUK remains committed to fostering cultural exchange and expanding family-friendly cultural programmes in the UK. With the success of the ‘K-Culture Family Day’ programme, the Centre aims to continue providing immersive opportunities for local communities to discover and engage with Korean heritage.
